What is the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report?

The BOI report stands for Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting. It’s a new U.S. FinCEN requirement that began on January 1, 2024, and the purpose is transparency into the owners of companies. The penalty for not late filing is $500 per day up until $10,000 and/or two years of imprisonment.
